Car

Coming from Munich

Variant 1, without Austrian motorway vignette: Take the German A8 motorway from Munich towards Salzburg as far as the Inzell exit, then continue through Lofer and Saalfelden to Maria Alm. You will find the HOCHKÖNIGIN 100 metres into Maria Alm on the left-hand side. Variant 2, also without an Austrian motorway vignette: From Munich, take the German A8 motorway towards Salzburg as far as the Inntal motorway triangle. Now continue towards Kufstein, take the Oberaudorf exit, then via continue Walchsee and Kössen to St. Johann in Tirol. From there continue via Lofer and Saalfelden to Maria Alm. The HOCHKÖNIGIN mountain resort is 100 metres into Maria Alm on the left-hand side. Please note that there a toll is in force on Austrian motorways (from Kufstein). You can obtain the necessary vignette at border crossings and tobacconists, as well as online at www.asfinag.at/maut-vignette/vignette/.

Coming from Vienna

Take the A1 motorway from Vienna via Linz to Salzburg. Change to the A10 towards Bischofshofen. Exit Bischofshofen, continue to Mühlbach and Dienten am Hochkönig to Maria Alm. In wintry driving conditions, we recommend that you travel from Bischofshofen via the B311 via St. Johann im Pongau, Zell am See and Saalfelden.

Coming from Graz

Take the A9 motorway to exit 69/Selzthal. Continue on the B320 Ennstal trunk road towards Schladming/Liezen/Radstadt. At the roundabout, take the third exit B320/Gesäusestraße towards Salzburg/Schladming. Continue on the B99/E651 Katschberg trunk road. Then take the A10 motorway via the Salzburg/Eben slip road.

Arriving by

Train

The nearest railway station is Saalfelden. Onward travel to Maria Alm by bus or with our free pick-up service is possible at any time.
